 g.1

That made you wonder
g.1
How about electrostasis or electrostatic.

Posted by g.1 (499) star about me on Aug-04-02 at 20:34:08 PDT Auctions

Nope. Think about "clueless".

Posted by iomoon (583) star about me on Aug-04-02 at 20:47:01 PDT Auctions

Hmmm,
an electron is written e which is negatively charged.
less it would be neutral.
electroneuter??
But, it would have a valency (I think,) so
electrovalent??

g.1: Are my earlier guesses, tetrasectedly and repartitioned, on the right track?

Posted by g.1 (499) star about me on Aug-04-02 at 21:00:55 PDT Auctions

No. (Not sure how you got partitioned.)

Posted by rclwa (557) star on Aug-04-02 at 22:22:38 PDT Auctions

Greg -- Based on his earlier comments, I believe he was thinking "repartition ed", i.e., cut "ed" in half, leaving "e". Clever.

Not one to give up.
In music, a breve is an upsidedown circumflex such as over e.
without breve, it would be unabbreviated.

Drats! I thought I'd solved the g.1's "e (13)" clue. My solution was "individually" (individual e), untill I started counting.

maarten
I think you're getting close but a word which has "solely" as part of its make-up.

Posted by iomoon (583) star about me on Aug-05-02 at 06:24:13 PDT Auctions

Actually, if it were not a single 13 letter word, "Holy of Holies" would be a great answer.

Posted by trianglemaarten (112) star about me on Aug-05-02 at 06:58:09 PDT Auctions

As for g.1's clue, my final attempt: intentionally (intentional e).

OK, clue time. The answer to my puzzle is lurking in this quite entertaining article about puzzles and puzzlers.

enigmatically

Petrelet Not sure how you get e from enigmatically.

Posted by petrelet (198) star about me on Aug-05-02 at 16:48:24 PDT Auctions

enigmatical e

Posted by g.1 (499) star about me on Aug-05-02 at 16:57:00 PDT Auctions

Ah. Clever, but not the answer I was fishing for (which is even more clever).

Posted by petrelet (198) star about me on Aug-05-02 at 17:01:10 PDT Auctions

You realize that in a REAL crossword there are cross words. I may utter one at any moment.

Petrelet A clever crossword clue could probably be made out of your last statement.

Sheryl just solved my puzzle. Too bad she can't post the answer here!

Posted by g.1 (499) star about me on Aug-05-02 at 17:53:31 PDT Auctions

And too bad I can't spell her name properly. Congrats, Sheryll!

g.1 Soo---please post the solution. And congrats to Sheryll! BTW, the welcome back party is scheduled for the 16th in the balcony. I suggest having bananas flambee and champagne.

Thanks, tukulkah

Good night to all and to sweet dreams of chat board regulars masquerading as Etruscan deities, fewer full moons on the board, and more fiendishly clever puzzles.

Greg -- I read the whole article, which didn't help, but a great article. Then it hit me, and I've been trying to post it for the last 5 minutes, but either eBay or my server was jammed up. I was sure your revelation of the answer would snipe my post. That's got to be it, I think.
