My life as a degenerate

Big stick of the day!

Inspiring and useful blogs

Positively Parkinsons - The first blog I read. By Canadian Bob Kuhn who was diagnosed in 2006 at 53. He still works in his own law firm. Very well written.  There are few current posts, but the earlier ones are worth reading.

Disability - a dialogue with Parkinson's and other diseases - Interesting philosophical take on PD and its effects. Dr Jonathan Stevens was from the UK and was diagnosed in January 2013 aged 33. He suffered from a particularly aggressive form of PD and died suddenly on 27 Dec 2013. See this news story for more information.

He updated his blog nearly every day. You will read how he came to accept being a person outside of the disease, and how he dealt with worsening symptoms. Take the time to look at the entry shown in this link, where he comes up with positive responses to some tough questions. You can also have a look at his webpages of photographs and drawings, which he posted to from August onwards.

I've got that Parkie feeling - By a Canadian who was diagnosed in 2011. Wry humor makes this blog very readable.

Parkinson's Humor - by YumaBev who has Young Onset Parkinson's disease (YOPD). A humorous look at Parkinson's, with lots of fun stories which chronicle Bev's fight against the disorder. Also includes links to videos and other useful info.
